How to bridge tokens in Phantom with cross-chain swaps

Phantom bridges tokens through its cross-chain swap: choose a token on one network and a token on another, and Phantom routes the trade through providers such as LI.FI, Relay, deBridge and Garden. You pay a bridge fee and network fees, Phantom lists its 0.85% fee on most swaps among the possible costs, and cross-chain swaps may need at least $2.

Quick steps

  1. Open the swap or trade screen. In the extension use swap on the home tab; on mobile use the trade screen.
  2. Choose the source token and network. Set the token you pay and confirm which network it is on.
  3. Choose the destination token and network. Set the token you want to receive on the other network.
  4. Enter enough value and review the quote. Cross-chain swaps may need at least $2. Check the provider, the Phantom fee, the bridge fee, network fees and the estimated amount received.
  5. Confirm and wait. Approve the transaction and wait; cross-chain swaps take longer than normal swaps.
  6. Check the destination network. Make sure the destination network is turned on in Phantom and look for the tokens in the same wallet.

Phantom has no separate "bridge" app. Bridging happens inside its swap screen: when the token you pay and the token you receive are on different networks, Phantom runs a cross-chain swap. That lets you move value between Solana, Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Bitcoin and Phantom's other supported networks in one flow. This guide is based on Phantom's help centre as of October 2026.

How a cross-chain swap works

Phantom's help centre describes four stages:

  1. Prepare: if needed, your token is swapped or wrapped on the source network first (on Solana, often into USDC).
  2. Lock or burn: the bridge locks or burns the tokens on the source network.
  3. Confirm: validators or relayers confirm the transfer on both networks. Most of the waiting happens here.
  4. Release or mint: the bridge releases or mints tokens on the destination network. If that is not the token you chose, Phantom runs a final swap on the destination network.

Phantom compares quotes from several bridge providers, LI.FI (which includes Mayan), Relay, deBridge and Garden, and picks the lowest-priced option by default. You can choose a provider yourself in the swap settings.

Which networks you can bridge between

Phantom supports nine networks as of October 2026: Solana, Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Bitcoin, HyperEVM, Robinhood Chain, Arc and BNB Chain. Phantom's help centre gives examples such as SOL to BTC and ETH on Ethereum to ETH on Robinhood Chain, but does not publish a full route list, and not every token pair has a route at every moment. If Phantom shows no quote, that route is not available right now.

Networks Phantom does not support, such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Linea and Unichain, cannot be bridged to inside Phantom. Never send tokens to your Phantom address on an unsupported network: they will not show up in Phantom. Since Phantom ended support for Monad (26 August 2026) and Sui (24 September 2026), those are no longer destinations either; see Sui and Monad removed and supported chains.

What bridging costs

CostDetails
Phantom fee0.85% on most swaps; Phantom's cross-chain article lists it as a possible cost but does not say explicitly whether every cross-chain swap includes it, so check the quote (Phantom help centre, 2026)
Bridge feeCharged by the provider; shown as a cross-chain swap fee line on the trade screen, or inside the network fee in some mobile buy and sell flows
Network feesGas on the source and sometimes the destination network; some routes are gasless
MinimumCross-chain swaps may require at least $2

Fixed costs hit small transfers hardest. Phantom warns that below the minimum, gas and bridge fees can make a quote unavailable or leave you with much less than you sent. To compare bridge fees, open the swap settings and check the provider options before confirming. Our swap fee calculator estimates the percentage part; add the bridge fee from your quote.

How to bridge, step by step

Open the swap screen (extension) or the trade screen (mobile). In the pay field, choose the token and its network; in the receive field, choose the token on the destination network. Enter an amount above the minimum, review the quote, including the provider, bridge fee, network fees and estimated amount received, and confirm. Make sure you hold enough of the source network's native token for gas unless the route is gasless.

The tokens arrive in the same Phantom wallet, at your address on the destination network. Make sure that network is switched on under active networks in the settings, or the balance will not show.

How long it takes

Cross-chain swaps take longer than swaps on one network because each step needs confirmations on its own blockchain. Phantom gives no fixed time; it depends on the route, the provider and congestion. Routes involving Bitcoin or Ethereum mainnet generally take longer than those between fast networks.

If a bridge transfer seems stuck

  • Do not submit it again. Check the status in Phantom's activity history first. Phantom's help centre has a status table that maps each stage to the next step.
  • Check the explorers. Look up the source transaction on that network's block explorer. The provider (shown in the quote) has its own tracking tool.
  • Turn on the destination network and check the correct account.
  • Bitcoin: if BTC seems missing, it may be on your other Bitcoin address. Phantom supports Native SegWit and Taproot addresses; check both.
  • Know the limits: Phantom says its support cannot reverse a bridge transaction or force it to complete, and resetting the wallet will not recover a missing destination transaction.

Anyone who contacts you offering to "release" a stuck bridge transfer is a scammer. Phantom support never DMs first and never asks for your recovery phrase. Use the in-app chat or help.phantom.com, typed by hand. See pending transactions for more.

Bridging outside Phantom

You can also connect Phantom to a bridge's own website. That can be cheaper for some routes, but you must verify the site carefully: fake bridge sites are a common drainer trap. A centralised exchange that supports both networks is another option, as Phantom's help centre notes for tokens on unsupported networks. Whichever you choose, send a small test amount first.

Frequently asked questions

Does Phantom have a bridge?

Yes, built into its swap. Choosing tokens on two different networks starts a cross-chain swap routed through providers such as LI.FI, Relay, deBridge and Garden.

How much does bridging cost in Phantom?

The provider's bridge fee and network fees, and possibly Phantom's 0.85% fee on most swaps; Phantom does not say explicitly whether it applies to every cross-chain route. Phantom shows the costs in the quote before you confirm.

What is the minimum for a Phantom cross-chain swap?

Phantom says cross-chain swaps may require at least $2 in value.

Can I bridge to Arbitrum or Optimism in Phantom?

No. Phantom does not support those networks, so you would need a different wallet or service.

Can Phantom support cancel a stuck bridge transfer?

No. Phantom says its support cannot reverse or force-complete a bridge transaction. Check the status and the provider's tracker.

How long does a Phantom bridge take?

It depends on the route, provider and congestion. Phantom gives no fixed time; routes involving Bitcoin or Ethereum are usually slower.
