How to install the Phantom Wallet app on iPhone and Android

Install Phantom from the App Store (app ID 1598432977, "Phantom: Trading Wallet" by Phantom Technologies Incorporated, iOS 16.0 or later) or from Google Play (package app.phantom, developer Phantom Technologies, Inc.). Fake Phantom apps have appeared in both stores, so check the identifier and developer before you install.

Quick steps

  1. Open the official store. On iPhone open the App Store; on Android open Google Play. Never install Phantom from an .apk file or a link in a message.
  2. Find the real listing. Type phantom.com/download into your phone's browser and follow its link, or search the store and skip any result marked as an ad. Check the developer is Phantom Technologies.
  3. Check the identifier. On iPhone the listing address contains id1598432977. On Android the listing address ends in id=app.phantom. Paste the link into our download checker if unsure.
  4. Install and open. Install the app, open it and choose to create a new wallet, import an existing one, or sign in with Google or Apple.
  5. Back up your recovery phrase. If you create a new wallet, write the recovery phrase on paper. Do not screenshot it. Then set up Face ID, fingerprint or a passcode to unlock the app.
  6. Turn on notifications carefully. Allow only the notifications you want, and remember Phantom never asks for your phrase in a notification, email or message.

The Phantom mobile app is a full wallet for iPhone and Android: you can send and receive, swap, stake SOL, view NFTs and open crypto apps in a built-in browser. This guide shows how to install the real app on each platform and how to tell it apart from the many copies. Phantom's help centre says to download only from its official links, because scammers upload fake apps that can steal your funds.

On the US App Store, the app showed version 26.34.0 and a 4.8 rating from about 64,000 ratings in October 2026. We could not check current Google Play download or rating figures. App names change over time, so rely on the ID and the developer, not the name. Paste any store link into our Phantom download checker.

Installing on iPhone

Search the App Store for Phantom and open the listing from Phantom Technologies Incorporated. Skip results marked "Ad": in June 2024 a fake Phantom app from a developer called "Meta Voxify" reached the top of App Store searches through a search ad, listed under Education rather than Finance, and drained users who imported their wallets (CryptoSlate, 2024). To be sure, open your browser, type phantom.com/download and follow its link to the App Store; the listing address contains id1598432977. Some App Store reviews include adverts for "recovery services"; these are scams.

Installing on Android

Android has long had fake Phantom apps. Phantom itself warned in March 2022 that it has "lots of fraudulent impersonators in the Google Play Store" (Phantom blog, 2022). Before installing, check that:

  • the listing address ends in id=app.phantom;
  • the developer is Phantom Technologies, Inc.;
  • the listing has a long history and a large number of downloads and reviews.

Never install Phantom from an .apk file shared in a chat, video description or website. Phantom distributes its Android app through Google Play. Third-party download sites mirror APK files, but you cannot easily confirm they are untouched, so we do not recommend them.

Setting up the app

When you open Phantom for the first time you can:

  • Create a new wallet with a recovery phrase you write down. This is the most portable option: the phrase works in Phantom on any device and in other compatible wallets.
  • Sign in with Google or Apple to create a wallet without writing down a phrase. Read Phantom email and social login to understand how it is backed up.
  • Import an existing wallet using a recovery phrase or private key, for example from the Phantom extension or another wallet. See import a wallet into Phantom.

Then turn on Face ID, fingerprint or a passcode so nobody who picks up your phone can open the wallet. The full walkthrough is in how to set up Phantom. Write down your recovery phrase even if you never plan to change phones: in November 2024 an iOS update reset some Phantom apps, and users without a backup were locked out until they could restore (The Block, 2024).

The built-in browser

Mobile browsers such as Safari and Chrome on a phone do not run wallet extensions, so Phantom includes its own browser for crypto apps. Open sites from inside Phantom by typing their address, and be careful with links from messages. The same warnings as on desktop apply: if Phantom flags a site or cannot preview a transaction, do not sign. See Phantom's malicious dapp warnings.

What is different on mobile

  • Ledger: the mobile app connects to Ledger devices over Bluetooth; Phantom's help centre lists the Nano X, Stax and Flex for mobile. See Phantom with Ledger.
  • Trading features: perps, prediction markets, Phantom Cash and token chat appear in the app where they are available. Perps are not offered in the US or the UK, and the Phantom Cash card is US-only, excluding New York (Phantom help centre). These are optional; you can use Phantom purely as a wallet.
  • Networks: the app supports the same nine networks as the extension, including BNB Chain since 1 October 2026. Make sure you are on the latest version to see new networks.
  • Support: help is built in. Tap your profile avatar and open Help & Support, or use Chat with us on the Home tab (Phantom help centre). There is no phone line.

Keeping the app safe

  • Keep your phone's operating system and the Phantom app updated through the store.
  • Do not install Phantom on a jailbroken or rooted phone.
  • Never store your recovery phrase in your phone's photos, notes or cloud backup.
  • Be wary of screen-sharing and remote-access apps; scammers posing as support ask you to install them.
  • Do not copy addresses from chat messages or your activity list; scammers use look-alike addresses.
  • If your phone is lost or stolen, restore your wallet on a new device with your recovery phrase and move funds to a new wallet if you think the phone was unlocked.

Phantom never asks for your recovery phrase, has no phone support and has no token. If something already went wrong, see what to do if your wallet was drained.

Frequently asked questions

What is the official Phantom app ID?

On the Apple App Store it is id1598432977 from Phantom Technologies Incorporated. On Google Play the package name is app.phantom, from Phantom Technologies, Inc.

Why is the app called Phantom: Trading Wallet?

That is the app's current store name. Names differ by region and change over time, so check the app ID and developer rather than the name.

Can I download the Phantom APK directly?

We do not recommend it. Install from Google Play and check the package name app.phantom. APK files shared online may be modified to steal your recovery phrase.

Which iOS version does Phantom need?

The App Store listing required iOS 16.0 or later in October 2026.

Can I use the same wallet on my phone and computer?

Yes. Import the same recovery phrase into the app and the extension, or sign in with the same Google or Apple account if you created your wallet that way.

Does the Phantom app work on iPad?

We could not confirm iPad support from the App Store listing. Open the listing on your iPad to see whether it can be installed.
