Solana address checker and look-alike comparison
Paste an address to check which network it belongs to and whether it is valid. For Solana it also tells you whether the address is a normal wallet or a program-derived address. Paste a second address to compare them character by character and catch address poisoning. Everything runs in your browser.
Address formats in Phantom
| Network | Looks like | Built-in typo check |
|---|---|---|
| Solana | 32–44 characters of Base58 (no 0, O, I or l) | None |
| Ethereum, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain, HyperEVM and other EVM networks | 0x followed by 40 hex characters | Mixed-case EIP-55 checksum |
| Bitcoin | bc1q… (Native SegWit) or bc1p… (Taproot) | Bech32 / Bech32m checksum |
Phantom gives you one Solana address, one EVM address shared by all its EVM networks, and Bitcoin addresses. Always send on the network that matches the address. See Phantom supported chains.
Wallet address or program address?
A normal Solana wallet address is a public key on the Ed25519 curve. Program-derived addresses (PDAs), such as token accounts and program vaults, are deliberately off that curve and are controlled by programs, not by a private key. Sending funds to a PDA you do not control can mean losing them, so the checker warns you.
Address poisoning on Solana
Scammers send tiny or zero-value transfers from addresses that match the first and last characters of one you use, so the fake appears in your history. Copy addresses from the recipient or from your Phantom address book, never from your activity list, and compare the whole address. More in fake Phantom scams.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool send my address anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
Why do Solana addresses have no checksum?
Solana addresses are the raw public key written in Base58, with no extra check characters. A typo can therefore produce another valid address, so always compare carefully or send a small test first.
Can I send SOL to my Ethereum address in Phantom?
No. SOL lives on Solana and must be sent to your Solana address. Sending across networks needs a bridge or swap.
What is a .sol name?
A readable name from the Solana Name Service that points to an address. Always check the address it resolves to.
